Retro Games Ltd has delayed the launch of its Amiga replica, the THEA1200, to December 4, 2026. The device was originally scheduled to ship on June 16, 2026.
Global chip shortages and rising costs cause delay
The company cited global chip shortages and rising plastic production costs as the reasons for the delay. Additionally, the operating system is not yet finalized. Chris Smith said the OS isn't yet where it needs to be, and the team wants to deliver a polished experience.
The THEA1200 is now expected to launch globally on December 4, 2026. Retro Games Ltd has promised to provide regular progress updates leading up to the new release date.
The delay was reported by Time Extension. The company has not confirmed whether further delays are possible.
