Ubisoft released a small patch for The Division 2 on September 1, aiming to stabilize audio performance after a recent major update caused widespread sound failures. This update matters because the preceding Red Horizon patch left many players unable to hear weapon fire or environmental cues, which disrupts cooperative gameplay. The studio deployed the fix immediately without requiring server downtime, allowing players to download the changes right away.

Ubisoft patches audio bugs following Red Horizon update

The patch, version 2.35, follows the Title Update Y8S2.3 and addresses specific audio bugs that emerged after the Red Horizon release. The issues primarily involve weapons and ambient sounds going mute or muffling during explosions in high-traffic areas. Ubisoft Massive Studio acknowledged the disruption and stated they are continuing their investigation to resolve the remaining problems.

The studio described the fixes in the new patch as tentative, meaning they may not fully resolve all audio issues for every player. Ubisoft Massive Studio stated, "Agents, we have deployed a new small update today with tentative fixes for the audio issues currently impacting the game. Players should be able to immediately download the patch with no downtime required for this. As we keep investigating and working hard on a definitive solution for all platforms, we expect small improvements on the audio for consoles and significantly improvements to the experience on PC." The studio also noted in a separate message, "Hello agents! We made some changes in the Title Update Y8S2.3 and a small update on the 1st of September to address those missing sounds while playing. We’re also continuing the investigation as it is still happening for players."

Players experiencing persistent audio problems are asked to continue reporting bugs through the official Bug Reporter tool. The studio emphasized that the current patch is part of an ongoing effort to deliver a definitive solution across all platforms. Until a complete fix is deployed, users should expect varying levels of audio stability depending on their platform and in-game activity.
