This marks the first entry in the series in nearly twenty years, bringing back the vehicular combat and stunt-focused gameplay that defined the original cult classic. Players assume the role of a stunt driver navigating dangerous scenarios and high-speed chases.

The game features a roster of licensed vehicles drawn from iconic movie franchises. Fast & Furious provides the core lineup, including the 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo MK4 and the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. These licensed vehicles anchor the driving experience within a world built around cinematic action sequences.
Tim Willits, the chief creative officer at Saber Interactive, highlighted specific stunts that pay homage to these films. He confirmed that the game includes a sequence where players jump between buildings, a move inspired by Furious 7. Willits noted that while this specific maneuver is not the single definitive stunt of the franchise, it remains a standout feature.
The vehicle roster extends beyond Fast & Furious to include cars from other pop culture landmarks. Players can drive a DMC DeLorean from Back to the Future, a Ferrari Testarossa from Miami Vice, and a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am from Knight Rider. These additions provide a diverse set of options for various driving styles and scenarios.
