Paradox Interactive has announced Stellaris Nomads, a new DLC for its space strategy game. The expansion introduces nomadic empires that live on mobile habitats called Arkships. It launches on June 15, 2025.
Arkships serve as mobile colonies and shipyards
Arkships serve as colonies, shipyards, and command centers with a unique UI. Players choose between Civilian, Military, or Scientific Arkship classes. Nomadic empires use logistic ships and Waystations instead of construction ships. Waystations construct and collect resources and create Waylines, which are interstellar trade routes. The DLC also includes a new origin called Sacred Path, which features a three-tier spiritual hierarchy and faith-based decisions. Standard civilian jobs are eliminated in favor of travel between sacred sites.

Stellaris Nomads is priced at 24.99 USD (about $24.99) globally and 20.99 GBP (about $28.38) in the UK. It will be available on June 15, 2025.
The DLC arrives alongside the Stellaris 4.4 update, codenamed Pegasus. Paradox Interactive has described the nomadic feature as something previously considered impossible, with game director Stephen 'Eldarin' Muray noting that even mentioning moving planets would make programmers cry. However, Arkships cannot research anomalies, archaeology sites, or astral rifts, as the developers want to avoid the entire colony being destroyed by a dimensional horror.

Paradox Interactive has not confirmed any additional details about future updates or post-launch support for the DLC.
