Community feedback shapes development
Series co-creator Brant Fitzgerald said community feedback influenced development. He stated, "We've been keeping a close eye on what you liked about State of Decay 2 and what you didn't." He added, "It became clear that community is survival and that we need your help."
Studio head Philip Holt confirmed the 2020 reveal trailer was a concept, not actual gameplay. The new trailer represents the game's current direction.
State of Decay 3 is confirmed for a 2027 release across multiple platforms. Alpha testing is already underway.
