GSC Game World released a significant patch for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on August 28. This update brings version 2.0.4 to players on Xbox and PC. The release addresses 26 different crashes that could interrupt gameplay. Players who experienced sudden freezes or forced restarts should see immediate stability improvements.

Patch resolves crashes and mission logic errors

The patch arrives as Update 1.020 for the survival horror title. It targets specific logic errors that broke mission progression in several key areas. Players stuck in the Iron Forest or Zalissya hubs can now continue their campaigns without getting trapped by invisible barriers or broken cutscenes. The update also resolves issues where NPCs like Zulu would fail to deliver scripted dialogue.

  • Game Version: 2.0.4
  • Update Number: 1.020
  • Release Date: August 28
  • Platforms: Xbox, PC

Visual and audio fixes round out the technical improvements. GSC Game World improved lighting inside the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant hub. The team also enhanced global lighting on the quality preset. Audio issues on Xbox, including missing sound after the update, have been corrected. Fog and weather effects no longer glitch indoors or trigger abruptly during rain.

Gameplay stability receives attention through fixes for autosaves and movement mechanics. The patch ensures autosaves trigger correctly during DLC missions. It also resolves an issue where players lost the ability to move after a C4 explosion. We can now confirm that these fixes are live and available on all supported platforms.
