SmartSens announced the SCC62HS 200MP smartphone camera sensor with 55nm Stacked BSI, 0.5µm pixels, PixGain HDR, and mass production in Q3 2026.

SmartSens has introduced a new 200-megapixel smartphone camera sensor, the SCC62HS. The sensor targets high-resolution mobile photography with advanced HDR and low-light capabilities.

55nm Stacked BSI process and 0.5µm pixels

The SCC62HS uses a 55nm Stacked BSI manufacturing process. It features 0.5-micron pixels and a 1/1.55-inch optical format.

Specifications

  • Resolution: 200 megapixels
  • Manufacturing process: 55nm Stacked BSI
  • Pixel size: 0.5µm
  • Optical format: 1/1.55-inch
  • Dynamic range (PixGain HDR): 86.3 dB

Key specs include PixGain HDR technology that delivers a dynamic range of up to 86.3dB while reducing motion artifacts. The sensor also offers a low-light sensitivity of 3574 mV/lux*s and a read noise of 0.92e-.

Additional features include SFCPixel and AllPix ADAF for improved autofocus. These technologies aim to enhance image quality in various lighting conditions.

Sampling of the SCC62HS has started. Mass production is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

The sensor is designed for flagship smartphones. It competes with other high-resolution sensors in the market, though SmartSens has not disclosed pricing details.
