Patch 1.001.011 increases mod storage caps and fixes Steam Deck crashes

The most noticeable change for console users is the expansion of mod storage limits. The patch increases the cap to 15 GB on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation 4 owners see a slightly higher limit of approximately 16 GB. These changes allow creators to upload larger, more complex modifications without hitting storage walls.

  • Mod Storage Limit (PS5/Xbox): 15 GB
  • Mod Storage Limit (PS4): Approximately 16 GB
  • Storefront UI Art Resolution: 3640 x 900 and 900 x 506
  • Creation Kit Master Loads: Multiple master loads allowed by default
  • PlayStation Supported File Types: .nif, .dds, .bink, .wav, and .fuz

Bethesda also updated the tools used to create these mods. The Creation Kit now allows multiple master loads by default, which simplifies the workflow for developers. On PlayStation, the kit supports new file types including .nif, .dds, .bink, .wav, and .fuz formats. The storefront interface also received a visual update to support higher resolution box art at 3640 x 900 and 900 x 506 pixels.

The patch addresses several technical bugs that affected the user experience. Bethesda fixed a crash that occurred when players opened the Virtual Keyboard on Deck. The update also resolved issues with empty search results and race transformation glitches. Verified Creators can now opt-in to modes that support Achievement and Trophy tracking.
