Samsung is reportedly working on a new foldable phone called the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide. According to a leak from GalaxyClub and Android Headlines, the device is expected to launch alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 in July or August.
Camera changes detailed in new leak
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide will feature several camera changes compared to the Galaxy Z Fold7. The telephoto camera has been removed. The main camera is downgraded to a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, down from 200 MP. However, the ultra-wide camera is upgraded to a 50 MP f/1.9 lens, up from 12 MP f/2.2. The phone will be available in a green color.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide is expected to be announced globally in July or August, according to the same sources.
It is unclear whether the sensor size of the main camera is smaller than the 200 MP 1/1.3 inch sensor used in the Fold7. The leak also suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide may be priced lower than the standard Fold8, but this has not been confirmed.
