Ubisoft has detailed the Ranked 3.0 update for Rainbow Six Siege. The overhaul removes hidden MMR and introduces a visible skill level system.
Placement matches return with five matches per season
Placement matches return with five matches per season. Players earn two points for a win and one point for a loss through a new competitive rewards track. Squad restrictions vary by rank: Copper to Emerald players can queue within three full ranks, while Diamond and Champion players are limited to two full ranks.
The map ban phase now includes five maps: three from the Pro Pool and two from the Seasonal Pool. The Champion rank has been revamped into five divisions, from Champion V to Champion I. A Legend Division is planned for Season 3, requiring Platinum or higher in Season 2 and Champion in Season 3, along with R6ShieldGuard and two-factor authentication.
The update aims to make competitive progression clearer and more rewarding. The changes follow community feedback on the previous ranked system. Insider Gaming reported the details.
