Playmaji has almost completely re-engineered the Polymega Base Unit. The company upgraded the internals to be several times more powerful than the original PM01 model. Existing pre-orders will be automatically upgraded to the new unit at no extra cost.
Upgraded internals boost N64 performance
The spec bump includes more CPU cores, higher clock speeds, double the RAM, increased internal storage, and quieter operation. Playmaji says the most immediate benefit will be improved N64 performance.

The Polymega Remix, a USB peripheral, has completed mass production and is shipping in May 2026. Pre-orders for the Remix are open now at 199 USD (about $199). The Polymega App launches in Early Access in May as a free download.
The Polymega is a retro gaming console that plays physical cartridges and discs. The Remix adds Polymega functionality to other devices via USB. Playmaji has not confirmed the exact launch window for the re-engineered Base Unit beyond the automatic upgrade for pre-order customers.
