Grinding Gear Games is releasing the Return of the Ancients update for Path of Exile 2 on Friday, May 29. The patch introduces changes to the game's economy and loot distribution systems.

Grinding Gear Games adjusts loot distribution to prevent direct comparisons between leagues

The developer stated that the Temple league featured excessive amounts of loot due to specific player strategies. To address this imbalance, Grinding Gear Games decided to increase the drop rates of Divine Orbs instead of removing them entirely from the game.

Jonathan Rogers noted that some players might find the decision unusual. He explained that developers briefly considered a troll answer suggesting they remove Divines completely before settling on making them more common.

This update aims to prevent direct loot comparisons between different leagues. The changes are designed to balance the economy and reduce the impact of farming strategies that previously skewed item availability.
