Blizzard has released the Summer Games update for Overwatch 2, and it is live today, July 14. Players can now access seasonal game modes and complete challenges to earn summertime loot. This update brings temporary arcade-style experiences back to the game while adjusting hero balance for the competitive meta.

Blizzard releases patch 4.32 with new arcade modes and balance changes
The patch version is 4.32/1.000.096. It introduces Lucioball, Lucioball Remix, and Winston’s Beach Volleyball as the core Summer Games 2026 events. These modes run until July 30, offering a break from standard team-based combat.
Hero balance changes affect both offense and defense roles. Doomfist received nerfs to Empowered Rocket Punch collateral hitbox and range. Sigma saw nerfs to Shield health and the Hyper Regeneration perk. Cassidy’s Silver Bullet projectile size was reduced to limit its effectiveness.
Several heroes received buffs to improve their viability. Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout cooldown decreased in both 5v5 and 6v6 modes. Reaper gained a larger Soul Globe pickup radius and increased Lifesteal percentage. Ana’s Biotic Grenade damage and healing output also increased. Stadium mode saw general Clash capture speed increases alongside various hero adjustments.
Junkrat’s Loot Hunt returns from July 31 to August 3. The Excavation Initiative event continues to provide loot box rewards for active play. Blizzard stated in patch notes that the update brings favorite beach brawls back to the arcade. Players should check the event calendar to maximize their seasonal rewards.
