NVIDIA released a beta version of its ACE Game Agent SDK at Unreal Fest 2026. The update gives developers tools to add artificial intelligence teammates directly into games built with Unreal Engine.
New software package enables interactive characters on mid-range graphics cards
The new software package includes plugins that connect speech recognition, small language models, and text-to-speech systems. Developers can use these components to create interactive characters that understand player input and respond with voice output.
NVIDIA designed the SDK to run on graphics cards with just 8GB of video memory. The GeForce RTX 3060 meets this requirement, which allows mid-range hardware to handle AI companions without needing expensive upgrades.
The package contains a Qwen 3.5 4B model for decision logic and Chatterbox Turbo 350M for voice generation. NVIDIA also partnered with Epic Games to embed these tools into the MetaHuman NPC framework used in Unreal Engine projects.
