Nintendo is expanding its retro gaming library with three new Game Boy Advance titles for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. This update gives subscribers access to Monster Rancher Advance, Metal Slug Advance, and Kururin Paradise. Players who already pay for the premium subscription tier can now add these classic games to their rotation without buying separate hardware or digital copies.
Three new Game Boy Advance titles join the retro library
The Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics app serves as the platform for these additions. It allows Switch owners to play older handheld games on modern consoles. The service relies on a subscription model rather than individual game purchases. This approach keeps the cost predictable for users who want access to a rotating catalog of retro titles.
The three new additions bring distinct gameplay styles to the library. Monster Rancher Advance centers on the mechanics of breeding and battling creatures. Metal Slug Advance provides intense, fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay. Kururin Paradise presents a demanding puzzle-solving experience. By spanning various genres, these titles aim to attract a wider audience of retro gaming enthusiasts.
Access to these games remains restricted to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. Standard subscribers do not get access to the Game Boy Advance catalog. The update does not change the subscription pricing or introduce new hardware. Current subscribers can access the new games by updating the application.
Nintendo previously added Wario Land and other Game Boy classics to the service. Previous updates had already enriched the library with more widely recognized franchises. This latest addition introduces niche titles likely to resonate with dedicated fans of specific series. The service continues to grow its retro catalog through regular subscription updates.
The update is now live for eligible subscribers. Players can start the new games directly through the Nintendo Switch Online interface. No additional downloads or purchases are required beyond the active subscription. The library now includes these three titles alongside the existing Game Boy Advance selection.
