ANDROID

Motorola and Samsung are set to compete in the foldable phone market in 2026 with the Razr Fold and Galaxy Z Fold7, respectively. The Razr Fold features an 8.1-inch LTPO P-OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 6200 nits brightness, while the Galaxy Z Fold7 has an 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 120Hz with 2600 nits. Both phones offer high-refresh-rate cover displays: the Razr Fold has a 6.6-inch LTPO P-OLED at 165Hz, and the Galaxy Z Fold7 has a 6.5-inch AMOLED 2X at 120Hz.

Display and performance comparison

Under the hood, the Razr Fold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, while the Galaxy Z Fold7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Both support up to 16GB of RAM, but the Razr Fold uses UFS 4.1 storage and the Galaxy Z Fold7 uses UFS 4.0. The Razr Fold packs a 6000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, significantly larger than the Galaxy Z Fold7's 4400mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. In cameras, the Razr Fold has a triple 50MP setup including a periscope lens, while the Galaxy Z Fold7 features a 200MP main sensor with a 10MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide.

In India, the Motorola Razr Fold is expected to be priced at about ₹1,50,000 INR (about $1,561), while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected at about ₹1,75,000 INR (about $1,821).

The Razr Fold offers a larger display, bigger battery, and faster charging compared to the Galaxy Z Fold7, but the Galaxy Z Fold7 counters with a higher-resolution main camera. Both devices are expected to launch in 2026, though exact release dates have not been confirmed by either company.
