Minisforum has released the UM780L Slim, a compact desktop that brings high-speed memory and strong processing power to a small footprint. This matters because the unit packs a modern Ryzen 7 7840HS chip and fast LPDDR5X RAM into a chassis that fits easily on a desk or mounts behind a monitor. Buyers looking for a powerful yet space-saving machine for daily tasks or light gaming will find this configuration particularly relevant.

Compact desktop ships in late October with upgradeable storage options

The core of the system is the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, which sits inside a 0.77-litre enclosure measuring 130 by 126 by 47.2 mm. The unit weighs just 600 grams, making it one of the lighter options in the mini-PC category. Minisforum pairs the processor with soldered LPDDR5X-7500 memory, available in 16 GB or 32 GB configurations.

The company claims the LPDDR5X-7500 memory provides 34% more rated bandwidth than standard DDR5-5600. However, the detailed specification table lists the NPU field as N/A, creating a discrepancy with the advertised AI capabilities.

Pricing starts at $535 for the model with 16 GB of RAM and a 500 GB SSD. Doubling the storage to 1 TB raises the price to $599.
