A new fan-voting website called Pokémon Vercel has aggregated over 130,000 votes to rank the most popular characters in the franchise. The platform collects preferences from players across all nine generations of games under the premise that every creature holds a special place for someone. The results reveal a surprising hierarchy among the community’s favorites.
Fan voting site reveals surprising community preferences across nine game generations
Mimikyu currently sits at the top of the charts as the undisputed favorite Pokémon according to the vote count. Gengar, Absol, Sylveon, and Bulbasaur complete the top five positions in this ranking. The list includes several well-known names like Lucario, Arcanine, and Eevee alongside less common choices such as Chandelure and Mawile.
Notably absent from the top ten are some of the franchise’s most iconic characters. Charizard, Pikachu, and Mewtwo do not appear in the highest ranks despite their widespread recognition. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Iron Treads, Quaxwell, Gossifleur, Tapu Bulu, and Tornadus occupy the bottom spots on the list.
The voting data originates from a third-party fan site rather than an official Nintendo or The Pokémon Company poll. The exact methodology for collecting these votes remains unclear as the platform does not specify its aggregation process. This independent tally offers a unique glimpse into player preferences outside of corporate-sanctioned surveys.
