Players using the Friends Pass in Lords of the Fallen can finally resume their co-op sessions without worrying about lost progress. The Free Friends Pass feature lets non-owners join online play, but a recent bug threatened to strip entitlements from saves after a shared session. CI Games released a hotfix on August 6 to correct this issue and restore access for affected accounts.

Hotfix repairs save files and restores access for free co-op players

The developer rolled out update version 1.111 (game version 2.5.576) across all platforms on August 6. This patch targets the save-handling logic that previously mishandled entitlement status for Free Friends Pass users. The fix ensures that players retain the correct access rights after participating in shared co-op sessions.

  • Game Version: 2.5.576
  • Console Update Version: 1.111
  • Release Date: August 6

CI Games stated that the underlying save data has been adjusted to preserve the correct entitlement status. The studio also repaired save files that were already affected by the bug before the hotfix arrived. This retroactive repair allows existing players to continue their playthroughs without needing to start over from the beginning.

This update follows a previous patch that addressed crashes during save file syncing in Shared Co-op mode. We looked at the last Lords of the Fallen update earlier while tracking these stability improvements. The developer continues to refine the co-op experience for both free and paying players.

The hotfix is now live on all platforms, resolving the critical save corruption issue. Players should download the update to ensure their Friends Pass entitlements remain intact during future sessions.
