Kynseed originally launched in Early Access on in November 2018 before receiving its full PC release on December 6, 2022. The console version arrives with newly optimized user interface and control schemes designed for gamepad navigation. Players will also receive content from the free Tavern update that was previously released for the PC version.

The game supports , PlayStation 4, and S, Xbox One, and Switch. Neal Whitehead, co-founder of PixelCount Studios, stated that the team spent a long time ensuring the console experience feels natural and complete. The studio noted that feedback from the PC community helped make the land of Quill richer and more vast than it was at the initial PC launch.

Ian Livingstone, chairman of PixelCount Studios, described the game as offering a level of freedom rarely seen in sandbox RPGs. He highlighted features ranging from deep crafting and exploration to farming and running a blacksmith shop. Players can watch their in-game families grow and build their own legacy within the whimsical world of Quill.
