HANDHELD GAMING

KNULLI has released Scarab, a major firmware update for handheld gaming devices. The update is now available for download globally.

New handhelds and emulator added

Scarab adds support for over 15 handhelds, including the TrimUI Smart Pro S, Anbernic RG Vita Pro, RG DS, Retroid Pocket 5, and Pocket Flip 2. RetroArch has been updated to version 1.22.2. A standalone Yabasanshiro emulator has been added for SEGA Saturn emulation, promising better performance. New features include improved Syncthing integration with manual and automatic sync on game exit, a BatteryPlus feature for precise battery state information, and new RGB support via Silky RGB.

The update requires re-flashing the firmware due to file and path renames and changes to the SD card partition table, according to the KNULLI team.

The KNULLI team has not confirmed whether additional handhelds will be supported in future updates.
