Sony's Killzone Shadowfall for PS4 exclusive in 2014 has been released in an unofficial form as a port for personal computers. This means PC users can play the game without the need for a console. However, the software is still in the beta stage and users can expect the game to be functional while also anticipating some bugs associated with projects like these.
Beta port brings console shooter to PC with FSR 1 and mouse support
The port of the game for PC is a separate program for the computer that requires an ISO of the game to be provided by the user for the in-game assets. This is a translation of the original game console experience to the desktop form with some specific configuration options. The game port is aimed at users who want to return to the game in the form of the campaign on the big screen and try it out with alternative input options.
The game supports mouse/keyboard input for aiming using the mouse. It allows to rebind all the keys. The software has support for AMD FSR 1 for upscaling, VSync, and anisotropic filtering. It lets users set the window size and choose the display mode with 30 or 60 FPS limit.
At the moment the game runs in fixed resolution of 1080p without dynamic resolution scaling. The author of the port says resolution scaling is the main priority of future development. The initial launch of the game can take a long time to compile shaders and crash occasionally. The game should run properly after restarting.
This version of the game port can be downloaded from a GitHub repository. The author of the project says this is a beta version of the software and there are some problems, but the player can go through the entire game from start to finish. This unofficial port can serve as a bridge for PC users who have missed the game on PS4.
