HP has introduced the ZBook X 16 G2ig in China, bringing a new mobile workstation option to local professionals. The device is significant because it combines the latest Panther Lake processors with support for up to 128GB of RAM. This high memory ceiling allows users to run demanding local AI workloads directly on the laptop without relying on cloud resources.

Business laptop targets local AI workloads with high memory ceiling

The laptop targets business users who need robust performance in a portable form factor. It is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 336H, Core Ultra 7 356H, or Core Ultra 9 386H processors. Every configuration pairs these CPUs with an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU to handle graphics-intensive tasks.

Specifications

  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 336H, Core Ultra 7 356H, or Core Ultra 9 386H
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 5060 Laptop GPU
  • Display: 16-inch 2560×1600 120Hz IPS panel
  • RAM: Up to 128GB DDR5 support
  • Battery: 96Wh with 50% charge in 30 minutes

HP equipped the ZBook X 16 G2ig with a 16-inch IPS display that offers a 2560×1600 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and reaches a peak brightness of 400 nits. The system includes a large 96Wh battery and supports charging to 50% capacity in just 30 minutes.

Connectivity options include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an Ethernet jack. The chassis meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards to withstand harsh working environments. HP lists the base model with the Core Ultra 5 and 16GB of RAM at CNY 12,999 (around $1,917). The top-tier configuration with the Core Ultra 9 and 32GB of RAM costs CNY 18,999 (around $2,801).

HP has not yet announced global release plans for the ZBook X 16 G2ig. The company currently limits availability to the Chinese market. Business buyers in other regions should monitor for future international launch announcements.
