HP has launched the StarBook Plus 14 laptop in China. The device targets the budget segment as a direct alternative to Apple's MacBook Neo. HP introduced this new Intel Wildcat Lake machine to compete in the affordable premium market.
Intel Core 5 320 processor powers new budget laptop featuring 14-inch OLED panel
The laptop features a 14-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 1920×1200 resolution. It maintains a 16:10 aspect ratio and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Intel powers the system with the Core 5 320 processor from the Wildcat Lake lineup. This six-core CPU pairs with a two-core Xe3 integrated graphics unit. The machine includes 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and comes with a 512GB SSD that supports upgrades.

HP priced the StarBook Plus 14 at CNY 5,998 in China. The company lists this cost as approximately $882 or about $880,640. HP has made the device available for purchase within the Chinese market. Industry observers expect a global launch to follow other recent Wildcat Lake announcements.
HP did not specify the peak brightness rating for the OLED panel. The vendor confirmed the laptop weighs 1.3kg and measures 13.7mm in thickness. It houses a 59Wh battery and includes two USB Type-A ports alongside dual 10Gbps USB-C connections with PD and DP Alt support. An HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5mm audio jack round out the connectivity options. HP equipped the device with an IR camera protected by physical shutters for privacy.
