Rockstar Games has finalized the pricing structure for Grand Theft Auto VI, revealing that several in-game customization options will remain unavailable to buyers of the base version. This decision matters to players because it limits access to specific cosmetic features and side activities unless they purchase the more expensive Ultimate Edition. The game launches on November 19, establishing a clear divide between the Standard and Ultimate tiers from day one.

Rockstar Games restricts vehicle mods and tattoos to the pricier tier

The Standard Edition costs $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is priced at $99.99. Both versions are available globally upon release. The higher price point for the Ultimate Edition grants access to exclusive in-game locations that do not appear in the Standard Edition.

Five specific stores are locked behind the Ultimate Edition paywall. Rideout Customs allows players to modify vehicle interiors, rims, and stylings. Sara's Unisex Salon offers signature hair, facial hair, makeup, and nail designs. Stock 305 provides exclusive streetwear looks for the main characters. Electric Fang Tattoo features over 50 signature tattoos designed by the artist collective FAILE. One-Eyed Willie's specializes in off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive art.

Two additional side activities are also exclusive to the Ultimate Edition. These include the PTT YOUNGIN$ Illegal Goods Store Gang Compound and the Classic Car Collection Special Commission. Standard Edition owners retain the ability to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition at any time after launch. It remains unclear how these locked stores will appear to players who only purchased the Standard Edition.

The release date for Grand Theft Auto VI is November 19. Players must choose between the $79.99 Standard Edition and the $99.99 Ultimate Edition based on their interest in exclusive cosmetic content. The game ships with these specific content restrictions in place for all regions.
