Govee has updated its smart lighting lineup with the Govee Strip Light 2, a device that brings Matter support to a more affordable price point. This update matters because it allows users to control the lights through any Matter-compatible hub, bypassing the need for proprietary bridges. Buyers looking for broad smart home integration without high costs will find this release relevant. The new strip replaces the older RGBIC model with improved color rendering and wider protocol support.
Matter support and LuminBlend+ tech arrive at affordable prices
The hardware relies on RGBWWIC 5-in-1 LEDs paired with LuminBlend+ color technology to produce smooth transitions. This configuration delivers 16 million colors and adjustable white tones that range from warm to cool. The device connects to homes via both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, ensuring reliable communication with smartphones and hubs. Govee has also integrated an AI Lighting Bot that generates custom effects based on user preferences.
