Google Home Display hinted by CPO in 2025, spotted in iOS app code

A new Google smart home display may be in development. The device, referred to as the Google Home Display, was hinted at by Google Home Chief Product Officer Anish Kattukaran in 2025. It was recently spotted in the code of the Google Home app for iOS by X user @aaronp613.

Code discovery reveals two strings

Kattukaran previously stated in an interview with The Verge that Google is "committed to smart displays" and suggested that a smart display would "present itself as an incredible form factor to interact with something like Gemini for Home." The code discovery includes two strings mentioning the Google Home Display alongside other Google smart home devices, but no further details were revealed.

Kattukaran responded to the leak on X with an eyes emoji. Fans on Reddit speculate that the name "Display" might indicate a wall-mounted device, unlike previous Google hubs and speakers that sit on a tabletop or shelf.

The Google Home Display could be revealed at Google I/O 2026, which starts on May 19. The company has not confirmed the product or its launch window.
