The incorrect figure appeared on social media after user Saukko505 shared the search result. Analysts project the final cost will fall between $70 and $100, with Zelnick previously describing the price as very reasonable.
European retailers have already opened pre-order windows for the title. The Italian store Showgame sold out copies reserved at €69.90 for both PS5 and Xbox versions. Dutch retailer Gameshop Twente currently lists the PlayStation 5 edition at €99, though these figures likely represent placeholder pricing rather than official rates.
Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming speculates that pre-orders and Trailer #3 may not surface until July or August following a recent leak that fizzled. Sony plans to support the launch with promotional efforts, including a rumored PS5 Pro bundle tied to the game's release.
