Today is the big day for digital board game Frosthaven as it's leaving Early Access behind to finally be at 1.0. Why is this big? Well, for Early Access purchasers this means they're getting the full game as a free update and for new players, it means they can finally purchase the full game. In the hands of Snapshot Games, the final product is one where the full story campaign and all the intended game mechanics are in place.
Full game is free for Early Access owners
A 2-4 player online co-op game by Snapshot Games, published by Arc Games, players will have six classes to work with at first (Banner Spear, Boneshaper, Drifter, Geminate, Blinkblade and Deathwalker). But over the life of the game there will be a total of 17 heroes to play.
Cost is $39.99 for the base game. There are also bundles available that come with soundtrack and Sunderfolk content. The release is coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The price is global and that's for the standard edition.
Isaac Childres, the original board game creator, is very pleased with how Snapshot has done and how it manages to keep the game play consistent with the board game while enhancing the experience for onboarding and user. There are even house rules in this update that were part of the original game vision. All content is final and ready for 1.0 release.
Frosthaven leaves Early Access as version 1.0 on October 15, 2026. Full game release with full story campaign and 17 playable heroes. Full game is a free update for Early Access purchasers. $39.99 is the cost with additional bundles available.
