Bethesda released a new update for Fallout 4 on May 27, 2025. The patch, version 1.000.008, significantly expands storage for player-created mods, known as Creations, on all console platforms. The update resolves a limitation that console players have faced for some time.
Storage expansion varies by platform
The update targets Fallout 4 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It increases the storage cap for Creations, allowing players to install more community-made content. The expansion varies by platform.
- Xbox One Creations storage: up to 15 GB
- Xbox Series X|S Creations storage: growable up to 100 GB
- PlayStation 5 Creations storage: approximately 15 GB
- PlayStation 4 Creations storage: approximately 16 GB
On Xbox One, Creations storage now reaches up to 15 GB. Xbox Series X|S users can grow their storage up to 100 GB. PlayStation 5 gets approximately 15 GB, while PlayStation 4 receives around 16 GB. The new storage limits are higher than previous restrictions.
Bug fixes address multiple issues
The update also includes several bug fixes. It resolves an infinite loading screen, a crash on PlayStation, and a failure to download all Creations. Other fixes address a space error in the Bunker Home Pack, an NPC spawn issue with Enclave Remnants, and a LOOKUP FAILED! UI text error.
There are platform-specific differences in how the update behaves. Xbox users must re-download their Creations after the update. On PlayStation 5, installed Creations are preserved. PlayStation 4 may show discrepancies between download size and installed size.
Bethesda stated that it has significantly expanded storage for Creations across all platforms. The update is available globally as of May 27. No pricing changes were announced.
