Bethesda is updating Fallout 4 to expand mod storage limits on gaming consoles. The developer increased the available space for user-created content across multiple platforms. This update targets both Xbox and PlayStation hardware families.
New patch raises storage caps significantly for community content on supported hardware
The new allocation raises the Xbox Series X/S limit to 100GB of storage for mods. PlayStation consoles including PS4 and PS5 now support up to 15GB of mod data. The Xbox One also receives a boost to match the PlayStation ceiling at 15GB.
Bethesda has not confirmed the exact launch window for this update. Players on supported consoles should check their system menus for the patch when it arrives.
The change addresses a long-standing constraint for console players who rely heavily on community content. Previous limits restricted the number of mods users could install simultaneously. This expansion allows larger and more complex modifications to run without filling local storage.
