Faliszek described working on sequels with established lore as a 'disaster nightmare' and said he prefers focusing on characters over lore. He fears backlash from fans who remember lore better than he does.
He made it clear he wants nothing to do with Half-Life anymore, saying he would not touch it 'with a 10-foot pole' or even with a gravity gun separating him from that pole.
Valve has not commented on the future of Half-Life 3 or whether the series will continue without Faliszek's involvement.
