Krikzz has released the Everdrive-64 Pro, a new flash cart designed to bring modern convenience to the classic 64. This update matters to collectors and retro gamers because it adds support for the rare Nintendo 64DD peripheral and includes built-in real-time clock functionality. Buyers who need to fix game compatibility issues will appreciate the automatic IPS and APS patching features. The device ships in eight distinct colors, including Grey, Grape Purple, and Watermelon Red.

The hardware centers on a Cyclone 10 FPGA chip, which provides the processing power needed to emulate the original console architecture. Krikzz paired this FPGA with 128 MB of SDRAM to handle larger game files and save data without bottlenecks. The unit connects to your console via a standard Game Pak slot, ensuring it works with any N64 model. A USB Type-C port allows for data transfer at speeds up to 20MB/s, which is faster than previous generations.

Specifications

  • FPGA: Cyclone 10 15.4k Les
  • SDRAM: 128 MB
  • USB: Type-C @ 20MB/s
  • Cheat Support: Up to 480 Codes
  • Nintendo 64DD Support: Yes

Technical features include support for up to 480 cheat codes, giving players access to a wide range of modifications. The inclusion of Nintendo 64DD support allows users to play titles that were originally exclusive to the disk drive add-on. Real-time clock support enables games that rely on time-based mechanics to function correctly without external hardware. These additions make the Pro a more complete solution for preserving and playing N64 software libraries.

The Everdrive-64 Pro is priced at $169, which is a slight increase from the previous $149 price point of the 64 X7 model. Krikzz states that all orders will be dispatched within three weeks of purchase. This availability window suggests a managed production run rather than an immediate mass-market release. Customers can choose from colors such as Jungle Green, Fire Orange, Smoke, Transparent Clear, and Ice Blue.

This release follows the company's earlier 64 X5 and 64 X7 models, which established the baseline for N64 flash carts. The Pro version upgrades the internal FPGA and memory to support newer features like the 64DD and RTC. We looked at the previous X7 model while tracking Krikzz's product cycle to understand the value of these upgrades. The Everdrive-64 Pro is now available for purchase at the stated price point.
