It has been over a decade since we saw a new Fight Night game from EA Sports. After so many years of only having UFC games, EA Sports is finally returning to the genre of boxing. The much anticipated return of a boxing simulator is finally here for gamers that have been waiting for it.
EA Sports confirms return of boxing franchise after decade-long hiatus
On October 20, 2026, we got the news on social media that Fight Night is returning. EA Sports dropped a quick message to let everyone know that the Fight Night series is back. EA Sports said, "To all those who were in our corner. Fight Night is back."
The last major installment of Fight Night was Fight Night Champion which was released in 2011. In 2014, EA Sports began to focus on UFC games. One of the major factors of the boxing series going dormant for over a decade was license issues with individual boxers.
The return of the game comes at a time where EA Sports is now owned by Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. A Fight Night idea was pitched by promoter Eddie Hearn to EA in a 2020 live stream. Hearn said, "I've got this little Fight Night idea, I've pitched it to EA Sports."
It is unclear what platforms the new Fight Night game will be released on or when it will release. We only know that it's coming back. At this time, we'll have to wait until more details emerge on when and where we will be able to play the next Fight Night.
