Modder Berthrage is releasing version 0.5 of Devil May Cry 3 Crimson, a major modification for Capcom's action game. The update builds on serpentium's DDMK framework and enables real-time co-op play for the entire campaign. Players can now complete the full game with two characters active simultaneously.
Modder Berthrage releases version 0.5 of the popular Devil May Cry 3 modification
The patch overhauls physics, hitboxes, camera angles, and core mechanics to match standards set by Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5. It introduces larger enemy step and jump cancel hitboxes to improve air combos. The mod also adds inertia and guardfly mechanics from the fourth title alongside a standard third-person camera.
Vergil joins Dante as a fully playable character with a massive overhaul that includes Judgement Cuts and Doppelganger abilities. Players can seamlessly switch between both characters mid-combo for extended juggle sequences. The update also unlocks higher frame rates and adds numerous enhanced visual effects to the experience.
Installation requires dropping the mod files directly into an existing Devil May Cry 3 HD Collection install folder. Users should download the latest release from GitHub and join the official Discord server for updates. Co-op functionality relies on local multiplayer or third-party streaming tools like Steam Remote Play or Parsec.
The Devil May Cry 3 Crimson 0.5 update is scheduled for global availability on May 22nd at approximately 11 PM Eastern Time. The release window remains an estimate and may shift slightly upon launch.
