Cygames President Koichi Watanabe confirmed that development on Project Awakening is steadily progressing. The studio describes the title as really starting to take shape after years of work. This update matters to fans who have waited since the initial 2018 trailer for concrete signs of life. The team reports a real sense of confidence that the project is coming together.

The game remains in active development with new elements added since the original trailer. Watanabe stated that the team is working each day to finalize the experience. Koichi Watanabe, the president of Cygames, recently confirmed that Project Awakening is steadily progressing and is now really starting to take shape. Watanabe noted that the team is working with a real sense of confidence that things are coming together.

Project Awakening joins two other major titles in the final stages of production. Lost Order is deep in development and entering its final stretch. That game was rebuilt from scratch following a 2017 closed beta test. Garnet Arena: Mages of Magicary is also moving forward with an announcement expected soon.

Cygames is balancing these large projects with smaller-scale titles for younger creators. These smaller games have fixed budgets to help staff gain experience.
