Remedy Entertainment released Title Update 1.4.0 for Control Resonant, introducing a mode that lets players restart the game an unlimited number of times after finishing it. This change directly impacts players who want to replay the story with different builds or difficulty settings without starting a fresh save file from the beginning. The update also tightens combat balance in the Unknown Zone to reduce intensity for those who find the endgame too punishing.
Remedy Entertainment releases Title Update 1.4.0 with New Game++ mode and combat adjustments
The patch targets both PC and console players with specific technical fixes and quality-of-life improvements. PC users receive optimizations for minimum and recommended hardware configurations, along with improvements for DLSS Frame Generation, HDR, ray tracing, and ultrawide display support. Console players benefit from enhanced DualSense haptic feedback and new support for Razer peripherals, which trigger effects for actions like melee attacks and taking damage.
Key gameplay changes include a new Power Core Charge setting that allows players to adjust the charge duration multiplier from 100% to 300%. The developer also reduced combat frequency and intensity in the Unknown Zone by 10% to 15%. To help players track their progress, the Build Power stat is now displayed directly on the Loadout screen instead of being hidden in the Stats & Effects menu.
Additional updates address user interface and audio settings to improve clarity and customization. The main menu now offers seven save slots, up from five, and includes a tutorial for the Rush ability. Players can mute copyrighted music during the intro credits and adjust a separate volume slider for radio dialogue. The patch also fixes various bugs related to map markers, subtitles, and visual effects during boss fights.
Remedy Entertainment stated that the New Game++ mode allows for an infinite number of runs, encouraging players to explore the twisted Manhattan setting and level up to handle tougher combat if they are below the enemy level. The company also noted that the HUD will show notification icons for new items in The Gap and that players can check vendor inventory directly from the map. These changes aim to reduce friction between gameplay sessions and make progression more transparent.
