Relic Entertainment adds standalone roguelite survival mode to PC

Final Stand serves as a self-contained module that does not require the base Company of Heroes 3 game. It supports both single-player campaigns and cooperative multiplayer modes for players who want to tackle the waves together. The core loop revolves around surviving escalating enemy assaults across a series of unique maps. Each run offers a fresh set of challenges that require quick decision-making and resource management.

The game features five distinct battlegrounds designed specifically for its wave-defense mechanics. Players command one of four iconic factions: US Forces, Wehrmacht, British Forces, or Deutsches Afrikakorps. Each faction comes with unique units and strategic options that alter how players approach defense. The roster includes 36 boss units that bring special abilities and significant rewards to the battlefield.

Progression is built around a roguelite structure with persistent upgrades across faction-specific trees. Players face 12 escalating waves of enemies before reaching the end of a standard run. An Endless Mode is also available for those seeking the ultimate challenge beyond the main campaign. The game includes 18 dynamic events that add variety to each playthrough and eight difficulty levels to accommodate different skill tiers.

Final Stand represents a distinct departure from the main series by focusing on condensed, high-intensity combat scenarios. The standalone nature of the release allows new players to jump in without prior context or existing saves. We will be watching how the cooperative mode handles balance across the four different factions. The release date is firmly set for July 29 on Steam.
