Bethesda is facing delays for its upcoming Fallout remasters and The Elder Scrolls 6, according to insider reports. Xbox corporate senior vice president Jez Corden shared the update during a recent podcast discussion about platform priorities.

Insider reports extend launch windows for major Bethesda RPG franchises into the late 2020s

An anonymous source indicated that Fallout remasters are further along in development than expected but will still take time to release. The insider believes 2027 is a realistic target for at least one Fallout title to launch. The Elder Scrolls 6 would likely follow in the 2028 or 2029 window.

The development of a Fallout New Vegas remaster faces potential technical hurdles. Original writer and designer Chris Avellone suggested that Bethesda lacks critical source code for the project without assistance from Obsidian Entertainment.

Bethesda is currently prioritizing The Elder Scrolls 6 over other franchise projects. Corden noted that getting these games out more quickly remains a top priority for the publisher, despite the extended timelines.

The release schedule for these major titles continues to shift as development progresses. Bethesda has not confirmed specific launch dates or detailed technical requirements for its upcoming remasters and next-generation RPG.
