ASRock has updated its Taichi Aqua 360 LCD cooler with a new firmware patch that changes how the display handles static images and improves overall stability. The update addresses previous issues where screen burn-in occurred after long periods of displaying the same temperature or fan curve graphic. ASRock also optimized the boot sequence to reduce the time it takes for the LCD to become fully operational after the system powers on.

The Taichi Aqua 360 is an all-in-one liquid cooler designed for high-end desktop CPUs. It uses a custom closed-loop cooling system with a copper cold plate and a 120mm pump head that integrates a small LCD screen. The cooler ships with three fans, each measuring 120mm in diameter, which are mounted to the radiator to dissipate heat from the coolant.

The firmware patch introduces several technical changes to the display driver. It now implements a pixel-shifting algorithm that moves static elements by a few pixels every hour to prevent burn-in. The update also adjusts the refresh rate of the LCD panel when the system is idle, lowering it to reduce power consumption and heat generation from the screen itself.
ASRock has not announced pricing or release dates for the firmware update. Existing Taichi Aqua 360 owners can install the update at no cost using ASRock's official control panel. Accessing the new firmware requires users to first update their control panel software to version 1.0.5.
This release follows earlier reports about burn-in concerns with LCD coolers in general. Other brands have also released comparable firmware improvements for their AIO coolers recently as the technology develops. As an early consumer AIO with a high-resolution screen, the Taichi Aqua 360 attracted significant attention from tech enthusiasts.
