Aoostar has adjusted its Nex395 mini PC lineup to address component costs and supply constraints. This update matters because it lowers the entry price for the AMD Strix Halo platform while altering the memory configuration for budget-conscious buyers. Users looking for a high-performance mini PC can now access the hardware at a reduced cost, though they must accept a fixed memory ceiling.

New lower-cost model cuts memory to 64GB while keeping Strix Halo APU

The core of the device remains the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU. This processor integrates 16 Zen 5 cores with a Radeon 8060S integrated GPU. Aoostar offers two distinct configurations for this hardware. The standard model ships with 128 GB of RAM, while the new variant reduces this to 64 GB LPDDR5X. The memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded by the user.

The integrated GPU reportedly performs on par with an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU in synthetic tests. These figures suggest the hardware can handle demanding workloads despite the reduced RAM in the cheaper model.

Pricing reflects the hardware adjustments. The 1 TB SSD variant starts at 12,999 YUAN (around $1,929) CNY (around $1,929). The no-storage 64 GB model costs 11,999 YUAN (around $1,781) CNY (around $1,781). Both prices are listed in China. It remains unclear if the 64 GB variant will be available in global markets.

Aoostar likely introduced this lower-spec option to navigate ongoing DRAM shortages. The company previously avoided launching the Nex395 in the US. We do not know if the new cheaper configuration will change that regional strategy. The product is currently confirmed only for the Chinese market.
