NetEase has confirmed that Marvel Rivals Season 8 will launch globally on May 15. The update introduces significant new content alongside a wave of character balance adjustments. Players can expect fresh heroes and maps to join the roster in the coming weeks.

Mid-season update on May 28 adds Cyclops and Alchemax Headquarters map

The Season 8 launch brings Devil Dinosaur to the Vanguard hero pool. His Ultimate Ability allows him to transform into an unstoppable behemoth that charges forward and tramples enemies. A mid-season update on May 28 will add Cyclops as a new hero. The same update releases the Alchemax Headquarters map for Doom Match mode.

PC players can now optimize their storage by uninstalling the High-Resolution Texture Pack as a standalone DLC. This change frees up approximately 35GB of disk space. The update also includes extensive balance changes for existing heroes. Deadpool receives reduced healing and single-shot damage output. Emma Frost gains improved survivability and a faster reposition cooldown. The Thing receives increased base health.

Other heroes see targeted adjustments to their kits. Iron Fist gains increased burst damage and faster cooldown reduction for his defenses. Mister Fantastic sees increased direct damage but loses the movement speed penalty on his Flexible Elongation ability. Phoenix deals more direct hit damage but less area-of-effect explosion damage. Spider-Man’s ultimate ability now deals higher total damage over its duration. Invisible Woman’s knockback distance and damage are reduced.

NetEase has not confirmed the launch window for specific regional pricing or detailed availability beyond the global release dates. The developer noted that Deadpool’s chaotic energy remains intact despite the damage nerfs. Mantis loses some damage boosting capabilities but gains a flat movement speed boost for allies. White Fox receives increased passive healing aura but reduced burst healing from attacks.
