Game Drop Three introduces the Dappled Forest biome, which features fall-colored leaves and sits near cold regions. The biome includes Poplar Trees with red, orange, and yellow foliage and Shelf Mushrooms that reduce fall damage. New building materials include Poplar Wood with an off-gray shade and Wool Stairs and Slabs in 16 colors.
Red Shrubs can be gathered from the new biome and placed anywhere while retaining their color. These shrubs expand when players apply Bone Meal to them. Abandoned camps also spawn in various biomes, containing chests and barrels with loot for players to discover.
Mojang highlights the mystery of these camps by asking who built them if no one has visited the Dappled Forest before. This narrative element adds context to the loot found in the abandoned structures.
