A community modder has added cooperative play to the Resident Evil 4 Remake. The modification allows two players to experience the campaign together in real time.
Unofficial modification syncs enemies and story events for two players in real time
The tool works by synchronizing enemies, story events, and interactive objects across both game instances. This technical approach lets each player see the other's progress as it happens within the shared environment.
Beta builds of the mod currently suffer from frame drops and stuttering during gameplay. The performance issues stem from the processing overhead required to keep both players in sync.
The pause menu and inventory system disrupt cooperative play at this stage. Developers have indicated that they plan to address these specific interface conflicts before a stable release.
