The long-awaited Killer Bean video game launched on in Early Access on June 8. This release brings the cult-favorite assassin to life after years of development by a single creator.

Solo developer Jeff Lew releases story-driven roguelike shooter on Steam after years of work.

Jeff Lew developed the title alone and created the original shorts and 2008 film that inspired it. The story-driven roguelike shooter supports first- and third-person perspectives across different game modes.

Players control Killer Bean, an assassin betrayed by the Shadow Agency. The core campaign features randomized missions alongside The Party and Battle Arena modes. Combat relies on physics-driven action with ragdoll effects, enemy vehicles, aircraft, and mechs.

Four factions populate the world: Bad Beans, Mercenaries, Pirate Commandos, and Shadow Troops. Bosses and mini-bosses appear throughout the campaign. The game currently costs $11.99 and holds a 68% positive rating from over 1,200 users.

Lew plans to maintain Early Access for approximately two years with major updates every two months. Community feedback will shape future additions like co-op modes, Jet Bean as a playable character, and new missions.
