Nintendo has reported Switch 2 sales figures for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, selling 2.49 million units. The total lifetime sales of the console have reached 19.86 million units.
Switch 2 sales forecast drops 17%
The company forecasts a 17% decline in Switch 2 sales for the next fiscal year, projecting 16.5 million units. Nintendo has confirmed global price hikes for the Switch 2.
Despite the forecast, the Switch 2 remains 5 million units ahead of the original Switch at the same point after launch. The original Switch sold 0.55 million units in the quarter, bringing its lifetime total to 155.92 million.
Software sales include Mario Kart World with 14.70 million units and Donkey Kong Bananza with 4.52 million units as of March 31, 2026.
Industry analyst Dr Serkan Toto noted that it is unusual for new console sales to drop in the second year. He attributed the expected decline to price hikes and described the coming fiscal year as likely quiet for Nintendo.
