Last War: Survival is launching Season 6, titled Shadow Rainforest, which overhauls alliance warfare with new territorial mechanics. The update introduces five capturable Altars in the Great River Zone that grant high-impact skills to specific leadership roles within alliances. Alliances are capped at holding three Altars simultaneously, fundamentally changing spatial control rules for competitive play.
New Altar mechanics and enforced pure formations reshape competitive play
The game now enforces pure Tank, Missile, or Aircraft formations in the Global Expedition by removing the popular 4+1 hybrid squad strategy. This shift forces players to heavily support their chosen formation with universal tactical cards that scale based on singular attribute traits rather than mixed compositions.
Each of the five Altars unlocks a unique ability for a specific alliance role when reached at level one or higher. The Cobra Altar grants the Recruiter a shield called Cobra Barrier, while the Echo Altar allows the Muse to summon Night Army units. The Gust Altar gives the Warlord a contamination attack named Serpent Breath, and the Feather Altar enables the Butler to rain lightning strikes.
The final Altar, Treehaven, provides the Alliance Leader with the ability to instantly reset spent skill cooldowns. The ability to reset skill cooldowns provides a tactical advantage during territorial disputes, enabling alliance leaders to maintain pressure on opposing forces without waiting for standard recovery periods.
Conquered settlements are permanently erased for the duration of Season 6 due to an unyielding city destruction mechanic. The permanent removal of conquered settlements for the season increases the consequences of territorial disputes, requiring alliances to carefully consider the risks of expansion since captured locations cannot be reclaimed.
