Vivo has updated its flagship smartphone lineup with the X300 Ultra, which has now been evaluated by DxOMark for camera performance. The device entered the ranking in third place behind two other recent flagships.
DxOMark camera test results reveal the Vivo X300 Ultra falls short of its Pro sibling due to video recording deficits and low light performance issues.
The Vivo X300 Pro holds the top spot overall, leading the Ultra model by a single point in the combined scoring system used by the lab. The small difference shows that both phones have similar camera abilities even though they target different market segments.
Most of this single point difference comes from how well each phone records video with its main lens. The X300 Ultra lost ten points compared to its Pro sibling when tested for main-camera video recording, which dragged down its overall score and dropped it below the Pro model in the final ranking.
Beyond the raw scores, reviewers noted specific quality issues during low-light shooting with the Ultra. They reported inconsistent frame handling, higher noise levels, visible artifacts, and AI processing that sometimes produced unnatural textures in dark scenes.
Pricing details for the X300 Ultra remain limited to a relative comparison rather than an exact launch cost. The device is expected to retail around €600 more expensive than last year's Pro model, which translates to approximately $699 at current exchange rates.
In terms of hardware quality, the Vivo X300 Ultra is positioned above the base model but below the premium X300 Pro version. DxOMark's latest test places it firmly behind both its predecessor and the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, which currently leads the smartphone camera rankings.
