Acer has revealed a new secondary display designed for flight simulators, racing sims, and productivity tasks. The PM131QT monitor was shown ahead of Computex in Taipei. Its unusual wide aspect ratio sets it apart from conventional monitors.

Compact 12.3-inch IPS panel with touchscreen

The PM131QT is a 12.3-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920×720. It includes a touchscreen for direct interaction. Connectivity options include USB Type-C and HDMI.

Specifications

  • Display diagonal: 12.3 inches
  • Resolution: 1920×720
  • Panel technology: IPS
  • Touchscreen: Yes
  • Connectivity: USB Type-C, HDMI

The display's compact size and low pixel count make it ideal for offloading instruments or tools from the main screen. In flight simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator, users can move smaller instruments to this monitor. Racing sims also benefit from the dedicated space for secondary information.

Acer emphasizes professional applications, where tools can be placed on the touchscreen. The display can be used in portrait orientation and has a tripod mount on the back for flexible placement. The built-in stand allows for basic adjustment of viewing angle.

The PM131QT is expected to launch toward the end of the year. Pricing is set at around $230. Availability will be global.

The PM131QT offers a practical solution for sim enthusiasts and professionals needing extra screen real estate without the bulk of a full-size monitor. Its touchscreen and versatile connectivity add convenience.
