Arrowhead Game Studios released Helldivers 2 update version 1.006.250 on May 29, adding upscaling support across PC and major consoles. The patch introduces Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for systems and raises the Performance preset resolution to 1440p on and PS5. The update improves image sharpness and consistent frame delivery while keeping the main game systems unchanged.

PC players gain access to 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5, and 3.0 upscaling technologies. Supported GPUs will run the newer FSR 4.0.3 variant for improved efficiency. Xbox Series X and PS5 base models receive FSR 3.1 upscaling. The PS5 Pro utilizes PSSR 1 for native console upscaling.

The update adds VRR support to both PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, allowing frame rates to sync with display refresh cycles. Variable Rate Shading (VRS) reduces shading rates in specific image areas to improve performance. Arrowhead states this significantly improves visual efficiency while lowering computational load on certain rendering tasks.

NVIDIA Reflex and Anti-Lag 2 latency reduction technologies are now available for their respective GPU brands on PC. The patch also includes improved VRAM management on Windows systems, which helps maintain stable frame rates on hardware with limited video memory. The adjustments resolve persistent performance issues during intense gameplay moments through improved VRAM management and Variable Rate Shading.

Console players will have upscaling enabled by default, though platform-specific variations may apply based on user feedback. A hotfix resolves a previous launch failure on and systems. The update does not include new pricing or availability changes for existing hardware configurations.
